NSD Layout

Here is the only traditional layout I finished this weekend, but I love it. The title could have been better, but this was my first attempt at cutting out my own. Now you see why I have a die cut machine on my wish list ;). There is hidden journaling where the arrow is at that says: "Through my grandmother's eyes, I can see more clearly the ways things used to be, the way things ought to be, and most importantly the way things really are." I love my grandma!

Me on NSD

Surrounded by my imagination. You can't see it but there is paper, stickers, and embellishments scattered about all over the floor.

What a lovely day, it's rainy outside, so I can't go cut the grass. My DH is at work, so no need to keep the house clean. It's the perfect day for scrapbooking!

National Scrapbooking Day

Yeah it's finally here.

Creating Keepsakes has this inspirational contest where you ad your layout to the cover. If only it was April Fools Day and I could say this was real. Haha, maybe someday.

I'll post more things I complete this weekend as I have time.

Another couple links to NSD Challenges I hope to participate in:

Spring Wreath

We went garage saleing this weekend and my DH found this wreath and knew I would like to do something creative with it! So here it is. I've incorporated just a few recycled items. The backer for the text (Hosea 6:3) is the cut out part of a mat from when I used to work in a framing department. And the center of the flower is a ring from wedding embellishment that broke. I've also had the little garden tools and bugs for years, but finally found a use for them!

(Oh I must mention, it snowed here last night!)

Carpe Diem

I haven't made a traditional scrapbook page in quite some time. I never have pictures around that aren't already in an album. But I got to thinking about that. I have photo albums of pictures, that I just wanted to get in an album, but didn't have time to scrapbook. Duh, scrapbook those! If I want them in the photo album I can always print them again (when there is a sale of course ;O). But for now just pull one out and scrapbook it!

I found this picture of my DH when we snuck our way on to the Boise State football field. Perfect I'm going to seize the day and scrapbook this photo of when we seized the day!

Easter Card

I didn't get to get any Easter cards made before Easter because we had to take an unexpected trip to Indiana for my hubby's grandfathers funeral. But I had this idea for a card that I could not get out of my head, so today I made it. Enjoy!

Trash 2 Treasure - Yosemite

More recycled art! I made a quick album of our trip to Yosemite. I'd had the pictures printed with full intention to make a traditional 12x12 scrapbook page. Since I've been browsing 2peas I saw this stamp contest called trash 2 treasure and totally got inspired. I'd also been saving this empty nut container, so it was perfect!

I won the 2 peas use your digital kits challenge this week! Check it out.

Now I have a little more motivation to get stuff done!

Reused Object Album

So my first project is for the most recent event in my life. I'm making a collection box for pictures and objects that we collected. The box used to hold tea candles, hopefully you can see from the picture it has a black base with a clear lid.

Another reused item I used to make the title came from a magazine, it had a page of stickers, so I just punched out my letters from the stickers.

There are so many things I buy that I can reuse the packaging on. My hope is that it saves things from going to a landfill and saves me some money!

Time to Create

Ok, I've been a bum for long enough. It's time to set goals.

Set aside time to be creative.
Don't be afraid to use supplies.
Post one thing each week.

There it is. Now off to work!
